PSE 2020 organizer freezes with .mov files

PSE 2020 organizer is now freezing with .mov files, even files that I could previously preview. I have to restart the program. Regular jpg pics display without an issue.

Any suggestions?

BTW, I still cannot use the Orgnizer uploader from Iphone pics.

Seems like PSE is getting behind the curve and possibly obsolete?

Well, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

Otherwise, try converting the files to mp4 using a well-known free utility called Handbrake. You can convert the files in batches.

What OS are you using? Are you using HEVC format video files? You can check by using MediaInfo, a free utility that gives a lot of information about a video file's properties. (Make sure you click on the correct Download button at the link I have provided. There are other download links that are presumably used to support this free software.)

If your .mov files are in fact HEVC files, and are on Windows, you need to have the correct Microsoft Extensions installed from the Microsoft Store. See this HelpX article.

If, as I suspect, you have your iPhone set to record and download HEVC files, you should change the settings to at least convert them to AVC format when downloaded (using the Adobe Photo Downloader).

Go to the Photo app's Settings on your iPhone and at the bottom of the list, make sure that the Transfer to Mac or PC is set to Automatic.

Thanks for the quick reply/response. My OS is Windows 11. All of my video files are from my Iphone, so I think they are HEVC. I do have the Microsoft HEVC extension installed. My Iphone is set to "most compatible" and the photo app setting is Automatic. Some of the Iphone files that were uploaded into PSE show as a .Mov file in PSE, but I have been able to view them in the past. For some reason, they now freeze the Organizer and I have to get out of PSE and restart it. (I can view the files fine from Windows, but not from PSE.)

Plus as mentioned, the Organizer auto upload from my Iphone no longer works properly.

Do you see any thing else that might help?
