PSE 2020 Quick mode Remove object button

In Photoshop Elements 2020, the tools for Object Removal are in the Quick mode. When I use them to identify an object for removal, how do I activate it so they go away? There isn't a "Remove Object" button as there is in the Guided mode. I know how to do it in Guided but I hate having to switch back and forth when the possibility exists in Quick mode to remove objects.

Hello,

As rightly mentioned by @99jon, Object Removal guided edit leverages the Content-Aware Fill algorithm. You can refer to this helpx article for more details.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions, I shall be happy to assist you.

Hi Medha,

I am new to PSE, so not sure how to explain what I am asking, so attaching a photo.  In the photos I have selected the toys that are behind my daughter.  What button do I push to make them disappear?

Hello,

Please follow the steps mentioned below to remove the toys:

  1. First, you need to switch over to the Expert workspace
  2. Then use any of the available selection tools to select the toys
  3. Navigate to Edit Menu > Fill Selection option
  4. In the 'Use' drop-down, choose Content-Aware option and click OK
  5. To fine-tune the output, you can use the Clone Stamp Tool and the Spot Healing Tool

Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to revert on this thread.

Regards,

Medha

The spot healing tool in the Quick Workspace will blend small areas with content aware but the new feature in Guided Mode is more advanced. See if my video tutorial helps.
