PSE 2021 for mac editor freezes (not responding) when opened

I'm running MacOS Catalina 10.15.7, and bought PSE 2021 because earlier versions of PSE stopped working.  Now PSE 2021 freezes when I try to open editor either fron Organizer, or by simply starting Editor.  Does anyone know how to fix this?
