PSE 2022 organizer reconnect issue

I have a problem when using the Organizer reconnect function. From the Organizer display, when I select File>Reconnect>All Missing Files, I get a list of a few dozen files that are missing from the Organizer. When I go to the last location for these, I discover the files are in fact not there and should not be there. They have either been deleted or were moved to another location. The files that were moved are correctly found in their new locations.

 

The question is: What action can I perform so that the reconnect function will not encounter these situations for these files?

    Delete the unwanted missing files from the catalog.  Select all unwanted missing files and press the Delete key.  They won't bother you again.  And, in future, only manage your files in the Organizer, not your OS.
