PSE 2022 Preview of .RW2 RAW files not available when getting photos from card reader.

Hi,

I rececntly upgraded from PSE 14 to PSE 2022, I have an issue where I cannot see a preview of  .RW2 (Panasonic Lumix Micro Four Thirds) files when getting photos from camera or card reader via Elements Organiser. PSE 14 is still installed on the PC (Windows 11) and it still works just fine in there.

The version of Camera Raw is 13.3.0.807 and no newer version is detected via Creative Cloud Desktop. I did download and install version 14 and installed but PSE does not use it.

I can see .RW2 in File Explorer too (after install MS Raw Image Extension) and other software like FastStone Image Viewer.

Any suggestions on a resolution to this or is it a bug?

The extension .RW2 does not tell the raw format, we need to know the camera model exactly.

PSE 2022 only has the 13.3 ACR version and can't use the 14.1 ACR version of Photoshop without following the last link in my above answer in that discussion.

The organizer can't work with external raw tools which only extract the jpeg data embedded in the raw file, without really 'converting' to an image format.

Thanks for your quick reply Michel, the camera is a Panasonic Lumix GX8. Like I said, I can preview the RAW files in PSE 14 organiser, but in PSE 2022, there is no preview image. I will take a look at your link to use ACR 14.1 to see if that resolves the issue.

Unfortunately, updating Camera Raw to 14.1.0.93 did not help. I've attached a screenshot showing the issue I have, on the left is PSE 2022 and on the right, PSE 14 Organiser, as you can see, preview works fine in PSE 14. The current version of Camera Raw can be seen in the middle.

Any other suggestions? If not, how can I log this as a bug with Adobe?
