PSE 2023 lagging (slow)

It seems in recent months my PSE 2023 is very laggy. It takes 30 seconds to load a photo out of the organzer. It takes as long to swap layers in the layers column. In general the program is running slow. My PC is a windows 10/64 OP and I have a Ryzen 9  12 core cpu and 96 gb RAM. AMD Radeon GPU at 8gb. This setup ran PSE 2023 smoking hot until recently. I have all the drivers for everything updated. Is there a known issue with a recent windows update of anything to casue this behaviour? I have wiped the program, including appdata files and intalled fresh. Any ideas would be much appreciated. 🙂

Ok, here's the final, I went to support/share and they checked it out. They turned off  GPU acceleration, turned RAM access up to 85% from 65% and set default printer to Windows PDF. They all the above CAN affect performance. FYI ..... Thanks for all who contributed

Thanks for letting us know how your problem was resolved. I am still curious as to what changed on your computer to create the problem.

There should be no reason why you are experiencing these difficulties - unless there is some background activity in the Organizer.  How large is your catalog?  Have you recently added a large number of files?  To test out this possibility, go to the Organizer's Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis dialog and uncheck all of the boxes.  Reboot your computer and see whether you are facing the same problems.  If you are, I suggest you try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by clicking on the blue Contact Us button under the Help & Support menu at Adobe.com. With your permission, they can take control of your computer and perhaps see what is going on.

Thanks Greg, My catalog, is tiny, less than 20 mb and all the boxes in media analysis  were and are not checked. I have a 12gb GPU (thought it was 😎 and 96gb system memory. Should handle anything I throw at it. In fact it did until recently. I may go to support as suggested. Thanks for the input.

I can add that my photoshop elements 2022 is having the same issues. Slow lagging responses to mouse and keyboard commands.copy-paste-move-open etc. It's almost like I dont have enough RAM but I do and it has been tested and stress tested. 100% good, and the CPU, GPU.Any add-ons I have to have, I.e Direct X ( I have 12) Flash etc? Any know Windows updates that are in conflict with Adobe? Where can I find a compatability list for my CPU, GPU and RAM just to confirm I'm on the acceptable lists. Grasping!
