PSE 2024 crashes when restoring catalog from pc to macbook air

I put 2024 on my Macbook Air (M2), and got a temporary version on my PC. I then used the PC version to convert my PSE 2020 catalog, no problem. Then I backed up the converted catalog to external exFat disk, again no problem. When I try to restore to the Macbook, however, PSE crashes right before finishing (although only about 1/2 the folders appear on the disk). I have tried multiple ways with no luck.

I wondered if I could copy over all the folders with the images, then do a backup of the catalog structure and restore just that. I am going to leave everything on EHD due to size limitations. Is this a feasible solution?
