Question

Merci.

If a new update is released, you should receive a pop-up message either when you open or close the program.

Added:  If you have updates set to automatically install, you may not know about the installation.  I'm not sure about that.

Ok thanks Greg for this info.
I suppose that with my license number, i can of course re-download PSE 2024 and install it in English ?
Hopefully Adobe will release a fix then.

Another question:
How can I be informed of an update without knowing if the update notification is active in the program settings, since I don't have access to it?

This may be a problem only for the French version of the program.  It has been reported to Adobe.

Well, I haven't read from anyone in 3 days.
What am I supposed to make of this?
Adobe PSE2024 is buggy for some reason and there's nothing we can do ?
Apart from waiting for a hypothetical update that's supposed to fix the problem (if there is an update...).
I'm not blaming the Community Experts at all, who often do their best to solve users' problems.

Can we contact a department directly at Adobe for this?

Because buggy software for which there's no solution, paid full price, for a publisher like Adobe is pretty average, isn't it?

Is there any way of forcing dark mode ?

I also have a M1 2022 Mac Studio with macOS 14.4.1 running Photoshop Elements 2024, however, i don't seem to have crash issue when opening the pse 2024 preferences.

Is your Mac Studio an M1 or M2?

Thanks Jeff for the answers.
My Mac Studio is a M1 Max 32 Go with macOS 14.4.1.
It looks to be the same as yours.
Strange that this bug occurs on some machines.
I uninstalled PSE 2024 with the utility I found here in my Finder:
Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024.
I've also found a de-installer in the directory you indicated.
I assume it's the same one ?

I've tried a clean, complete uninstall and reinstall and it still doesn't work.
No access to application settings.
Is there any way of forcing dark mode?
Will I be notified of a possible future update?
If not, how can I find out manually?
Have a nice day!

In Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024/Support Files

double click the

Uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024

to remove Photoshop Elements 2024 from your Mac

Yes that's most likely a bug that can only be fixed by Adobe.

What is the best way to uninstall PSE 2024 ?
Are there any files I need to delete afterwards to make sure everything's clean?
Should I also uninstall Camera RAW?
Where can I find the 1st version of PSE 2024 without having to update and reinstall it?
(I think it's the 20230922 version).

At the beginning, I had access to the settings.
Thanks for your help.

I don't think there is another version to install that doesn't have this bug.

This was happening before the latest Photoshop Elements 2024.2 update, so it's up to Adobe and/or Apple to fix the issue, since might also be caused by an update to macOS Sonoma.

Hello.

I have PSE 2024 on my Mac Studio running macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (last updated version).

My problem is that when I want to access PSE 2024 settings, it crashes.
I don't know exactly how long this problem has been present because I don't change the settings every time I use PSE 2024.

I did the last PSE 2024 update (20240321) and I also updated Camera RAW to version 16.0 to process DNG files from my new iPhone.
However, I don't have the impression that these 2 updates are related to my problem. (?)

To try and find a solution, I used Time Machine to go back to an earlier date of PSE 2024, but the problem remains.
I then cleanly uninstalled PSE 2024 (using Adobe's uninstall tool) and reinstalled completely.
The problem is still there, plus I've lost all my preferences now...

Could you please help me? I'm not sure what to do now.

Thank you for your help.

I found this post that seems to talk about the same problem. I've tried the few solutions suggested by 99jon but none of them work.
