PSE 2025 stopped working properly Windows 11

PSE 2025 was woking fine until this morning. Windows 11 system on Surface Pro 9.

Now the cursor goes haywire when I try to use any tool. Can't even crop. Tried both track pad and surface pen and still no control. The cursor, pen, whatever makes the tool jump all over the page.

Been using many incarnations of PSE for years.

It even still worked after the most recent  Windows update.

Nothing else has changed system-wise. No new programs. PSE 2025 just stopped working properly.

Thanks for any diagnosis and new ideas how to solve this. Have tried everything I've found on this website and nothing works.

Thanks very much.

Did you find any solution to this?  I bought a brand new computer to run photoshop elements and it is practically unusable for similar reason.  I have updated everything, reinstalled, and the issue come back.  It is so frustrating.

There is no reason why you would be asked to pay again unless there is a problem with your account.  If you have such a problem, you would have to contact Adobe Support to help you.  This is a user-to-user forum, and we can't help with such problems.

An update to Elements was released a couple of days ago.  Perhaps the bug fixes will help you with your problem.

@gloelle, try uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Accept the option to delete preferences files when you uninstall.

Thanks for replying. When I try install after uninstalling, will I be able to do that without it asking me to repurchase?

Thanks again.

Yes, it will work for Elements 2024.

What do you mean when you say no colourise?  This tool requires a separate download that should automatically appear when you try to use it.  Are you always connected to the internet?

Other problems were resolved with an update to Elements 2024.  Do you have the latest version?  Look at the Editor's Help>System Info . . . .  The first line should be:  Adobe Photoshop Elements Version: 24.0 (20240531.Git.master.e2ec2d0).

Try this:

Restore default preferences
Preference settings control how Photoshop Elements Editor displays images, cursors, and transparencies, saves files, uses plug‑ins and scratch disks, and so on. If the application exhibits unexpected behavior, the preferences file could be damaged. You can restore all preferences to their defaults.

Note: Deleting the preferences file is an action that cannot be undone.

Do one of the following:

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Mac: Option+Command+Shift) immediately after Photoshop Elements begins launching. Click Yes to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file.
Go to Edit > Preferences (Mac: Photoshop Elements > Preferences > General), click the Reset Preferences on next launch button, and then click OK. When you restart Adobe Photoshop Elements, all preferences are reset to default settings.
A new preferences file is created the next time you start Photoshop Elements Editor. For information on a specific preference option, search for the preference name in Help.

Will this work for PSE 2024?  this ,upgrade, has not been working properly since installed no colourise and frequent crashes after about 15 minutes of use. Nothing else i have seen workks so I may try this.  I have and AMD 5900x setup with a very capable computer and Win11.
