PSE 9 screen is changed

I only use PSE for a couple of things. I open old family photos that I have scanned. I use the tool for taking out flaws; i use this tool a lot. This is almost all that I have ever used PSE to do. I did it fine for 7 years through a couple of weeks ago. But yesterday I opened the program and it is different. There are no words in the file-opening function, and the "Guided" function is gone.
