PSE Main Menu items not appearing

Recently installed PSE 2022 on my Win10 Home laptop.

The Organiser has corrrectly imported all my pictures.

At the top of the screen are the menu buttons File, Edit, Find, View and Help but when I click on any of these nothing happens! The detailed drop down menu items do not appear.  Have tried running as Administrator but no difference.

In the Photo Editor all the main menu items operate correctly!

Help please!

Hi @Admired_Flair157F. What is the size (screen resolution in pixels) of your laptop monitor?  Does it meet the system requirements of 1280x800 display resolution (at 100% scale factor)?  Have you scaled the screen resolution to something other than 100% in Windows settings?

What happens if you press Alt-F, Alt-E, Alt-I, Alt-V, or Alt-H?  Do the menus drop down?

Presumably, the Organizer was working correctly at one point (when you were able to import the photos).

How large is your catalog (number of photo/video files)?

Try pressing the Shift key when launching the Organizer.  This will bring up the Manage Catalogs dialog.  Create and open a new empty catalog.  Do the menus now work?  If they do, go to Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis and uncheck all of the boxes.  Next go back to File>Manage Catalogs and open the main catalog.  Do the menus now work?

If the menus still don't work, try updating the graphics driver.

Final suggestion:  Try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by clicking on the blue Contact Us button under the Help & Support menu at Adobe.com. Or you can contact Support by telephone using the numbers listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html. Hours of operation outside of the United States are limited. See the phone link for details.

Two things worked for me.

Definately, there is a clash with the 'Auto Hide' Task bar, which needs to be turned 'OFF', aslo, Open Elements by holding down 'Shift' and it cleared my problem. Now works fine.

Adobe: Can you sort out the software error that does not allow 'Auto Hide' of Task bar, please?

Nick, what is the size in inches of your monitor and is 1920x1080 the recommended resolution in Windows Display Settings?

Maybe you just need some reading glasses.  🤓

Thanks for your response!

I have a desktop computer and the display resolution is 1920x1080

As this results in a rather small and difficult to read text size with PSE I had set the text scaling to 125%

I have now set it back to 100% and lo and behold all the menu dropdowns work!

Only problem now is that it is difficult to read!

Hello Nick,

You most likely have your Windows taskbar set to hide. Turn this feature OFF and your Organizer menu bar will work normally.

Changing the taskbar settings made no difference.  Have also noticed that the Import, Create and Share dropdown menus don't appear.  PSE Organiser is almost totally unusable for me at present.
