PSE Organizer Hangs

I'm currently running PSE 14 on my iMac Mojave 10.14.2. The Organizer is basically unusable for me because it constantly hangs. This was happening in my previous version of the Organizer also and nothing improved at all. I have been reluctant to upgrade because of this. My question is "Have others experienced problems with the PSE 15 Organizer hanging between every function?"

Thanks.

Well, I thought I followed your instructions. Now I am unable to see any of my photos in the Organizer. It displays my folders, but all the photo areas have a "?" instead of the photo. This may have happened after I had deleted the files and reopened Organizer. I believe it prompted me to convert the catalogue, which I did. So now I don't know how to get it all back.

Deleting the pref files would not have changed the thumbnails. There should have been no catalog conversion; so you must have done something else.

    Try looking for older catalogs.

From the Organizer menu go to:

    File >> Manage Catalogs

Choose a named catalog and click the button “Open”

    Is the Editor working OK?

    Hi,

Please answer the following questions about the issue so that we can understand it better.

    1. Can you specify the workflow/actions during which you experience performance issues?

    2. You have mentioned that you are facing issues on 10.14. If you have upgraded from 10.13 to 10.14, was the product working fine before the upgrade?

    3. The number of media in your catalog.

    Thanks!

Try trashing the prefs which is often necessary after updating Mac OS.

    Quit Elements

Launch Finder and go to your Username >>Library >> Preferences

Send the following files/folders to the trash:

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 Paths

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 Settings

    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

The library is hidden in recent versions of OSX. To get to your user library quickly, from the top menu in Finder, click “Go” whilst holding down the Option (Alt) key and your user Library will appear for you to choose.

After deleting the above, reboot by clicking the apple logo (top-left) and choosing restart.

    Then check the control list

Click System Preferences in the dock and open Security & Privacy

Choose the Privacy tab and then choose Accessibility

Click the lock to unlock (you may be prompted for your Apple system login password)

Then put a checkmark next to the PSE14 Organizer

If not listed you can add the app by navigating to:

    Applications >> Adobe Elements 14 Organizer.app

Re-lock and try launching the Organizer again.

Thank you, Jon. I appreciate your help. I have deleted some of the files you indicated needed to be removed. Can you tell me about these remaining ones? Do they also need to be trashed?

    Thanks again.

Only the three files/folders in Preferences.

    Then check the control list.
