PSE Won't Start After Exiting. Must Reboot Mac.

The following started happening on Mac (version info below):

1. I run PSE. It works fine.

2. I close PSE.

3. I click on the PSE to run it again

4. The icon just bounces indefinitely, and the app doesn't start.

If I reboot the Mac, PSE will work again.

I've tried resetting the preferences, but the problem persists

I've been reluctant to uninstall/reinstall because last time I tried that, it wouldn't reinstall, and I had to upgrade.

Any suggestions for fixing this? Thanks.

I found a great solution to this: I switched to Affinity Photos. Glad this final straw made me look around for alternatives.
