PSE15 - No update facility

Last year, 30th November 2016, I purchased PSE15 via Mac App Store. I wanted to update it now and realised 2 things:

1. I dont have a serial number even though I must've entered one when I installed it. System Info shows Serial Number as a blank.

2. There is no update option

How do I update my software that I paid for? (Standalone)

You would normally download from the app store. Log-in and go to your purchases.

I did but apps purchased from the Mac App store dont come with serial numbers as it requires a Mac password to download. Thats according to the FAQ on the Mac App store.

So Im still sitting with a version that I cannot update and cant register on my Adobe account.

The app store version does not need a serial number; only retail versions purchased directly from Adobe or resellers such as Amazon, Costco etc.
