PSE2020: Canon CR3 not properly displayed

Hello,

My PSE2020 will not display Canon *.CR3 raw files properly.
The original size is 6720x4480, but camera raw (V12.0) shows only 6320x3776.
I uninstalled and reinstalled PSE, but again it contains only camera raw 12.0.
So I downloaded and installed 14.5. But how can I remove 12.0 from PSE and integrate 14.5?
I can convert any CR3 into TIF and then PSE reads the file in the original size.

Who can help me?

See if this post provides you with the explanation you are looking for.

CR3 is an image format there are a few cannon cameras that use it.   Make sure you install the ACR version you need.

Follow this:

Download and install the latest Camera Raw version from https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html

Quit all Adobe applications.

On macOS, double-click the .dmg file to mount it.

On Windows double-click the downloaded .zip file to unzip it.
(Windows might unzip the file for you.)

On macOS, double-click the .pkg file to start the installer.

On Windows, double-click the resulting .exe file to start the installer.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once installed successfully, close the installer window.

 Navigate to the following folder:

On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CC/File Formats

On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats

Copy the Camera Raw plug-in (just the .8bi file) from the CC > File Formats folder that is mentioned in the above step.

Navigate to the following folder:

On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/Elements<Version Number>/File Formats

On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements<Version Number>\File Formats

Replace the existing Camera Raw plugin in Elements<Version Number> folder with the plug-in that you copied earlier.

you wrote:

No. All Canon system cameras (R,R1,R3,R7, R50 .....) use raw CR3 files.

I did what you wrote but there is no change.
I downloaded and installed the latest camera raw 17.3.1. I made sure the both my camera EOS R and the raw files CR3 are supported. I replaced the "cameraraw.8bi" file. Reboot.
PSE uses now camera raw 17 as it is shown in the "help" menue.

Your suggestion seems to be kind of a workaround. It seems that with 2020 there is no way from inside the App to remove an older Version of camera raw and put a new version in. But anyway, even with 17 my CR3 files are not displayed in full size.

Adobe must be wrong then about the camera raw.
