PSE23: copy a catalog from Windows to Apple M1 fails

Hi all!

I fully back-upped a Windows11-PSE23-catalog to an external NTFS formatted stick including foto-files.

No I try to restore the stick on MacOS-M1 and get the error message, that the stick contains no valid backup.

Could it be the problem, that the NTFS-formatted stick is not writeable on MacOS, although the stick is the data source?

Unfortunately all these processes last hours up to days because of the bulk of data (500GB).

Is it possible to copy the catalog

  1.  itself without foto-files using the backup and restore mechanism of PSE23 and
  2. copy the foto-files using normal OS-typic operations like copying them with the Windows-explorer ?

Regards,

AAA

It is possible but your catalog will not be updated to the new location on your Mac. With a relatively big library like yours, 'reconnecting' will be  unrealistic. All the photos in your caalog will be shown as 'disconnected or missing'.
