PSE24 NOT working efficiently... HELP!

Slow, slow, slow... Today it wouldn't even do simple copy of a section of a photo to paste to another photo. Not with the quick select tool or the retangle box. It is now frozen with the rectangle box that will not go away. I will have to quit and restart but due to many such problems I would like to just do a clean uninstall and then reinstall the app.  How do I do that? I am afraid of screwing things up worse!

1. Sign in to your Adobe account, and at the bottom of the screen go to "Manage My Account." If you registered the software when you purchased it, it should show up with the serial number and a download button. Don't do anything yet.

2. Open PSE Editor, and under the help menu, sign out. 

3. In Windows (I don't know anything about a Mac), type "control panel" in the white box at the bottom left on the task bar. Click on "Programs". You should see listed Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024. Right click on this and you can initiate the uninstall.

4. If everything is ok in step #1, you can reinstall.

I need Mac help and apparently I don't have an Adobe account even though I purchaced PSE 2024.  Is there any way to get a real person to talk me through the uninstall and then reinstall as I should not be have all these problem with a 2024 product.
