Punctuation in wrong place

I am working with Photoshop Elements and suddenly the punctation in my text box is appearing at the beginning of the line instead of at the end. I see fixes for this online for the full Photoshop program, but not elements. I have already reset the type tool, as well as reset all the preferences, and restarted the program. It is typing in English and when I go to a different program (ie Microsoft Word) this does not happen. There is some setting in Elements that got messed up and I can't figure it out. How do I correct this?
