Re-activate Photoshop Elements 4

Following a system crash, I need to re-install my old PSE4 but I cannot activate this product.

When I try to activate on-line I get error code 17:17 "Activation Server Unavailable"

The message suggests activating by telephone but this service no longer exists.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you have the CD and documentation for installation? It is problematic that this old version will function on a modern operating system. The product is no longer supported by Adobe.

Thanks for your reply.

I installed again from the original CD (instead of back-up files on an external hard disk).

PSE installs and works perfectly but registration will not work.

Only registration option is over the internet and I just get the response "An error occurred during Registration".
