After "upgrading" to High Sierra, my photoshop elements app no longer works. Will open, can create file, but when save as psd, shuts down and when I try to open file, tells me the file is empty

I can save as jpg, but that obs doesn't help me when I need to edit files.

Unless you have the very latest 2018 version, you may have simply upgraded yourself out of being able to use an older program with Apple's latest operating system
