Recently I had to re-download Windows 11 twice. Once I re-installed Photoshop Elements 2021, my printing feature will not let me print. I also replaced a printer a few weeks ago. It's been maddening as I so rely on my Photoshop. Help?

After you last installed Windows, did you also install the software that came with your new printer? Although most printers are compatible with Windows and are recognized correctly, printing problems can still occur with new printers.

A basic test is to type a few sentences in Windows Notepad and try to print the page. If it prints successfully but other programs still cannot print, you should then check the print settings in those programs.

Here’s a screenshot from Photoshop Elements Organizer showing my printer’s settings window, which appears after I right-click the selected image. If this window appears but the page does not print, the problem is likely with the connection between your computer and printer. That is where you should start troubleshooting.

Is the newest PSE download only for 3 years? What version is best as it starts at $99.99. I currently have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2021 which will not fully function with the new printers. Help?

Did you try resetting the Preferences in the Editor?

Are you printing in the Editor or the Organizer? Or both?

If you had to reinstall Windows, you should download and install the latest print driver from your printer’s maker.  

Older versions of Elements do not like Wi-fi printers.  If you have one, change your default printer to anything but the wi-fi printer.  You can even use a virtual PDF printer as your default printer.  Then when you are in the Print dialog, change to your wi-fi printer.

You haven’t told us whether you reinstalled Windows from scratch on a blank drive or whether you did some kind of repair installation.  You may want to reset the Preferences under the Editor’s Edit>Preferences>General dialog.  That usually takes care of most printer connection issues.
