Recognising a scanner

I have downloaded the trial version of Photoshop Elements 15 and it does not recognise my 10 year old Epson V200 scanner. Is the age the problem?

    Check on the Epson web site to see if there is an updated driver for your machine. If not, suggest that you utilize the software that came with the scanner, save the scanned file output to a destination folder, and open the file(s) in PSE.
