redemption code proves invalid

Greetings;  I installed the P E 2018 and tried to get a serial number but the Best Buy redemption number in the box was shown as invalid.  I have spent over two hours with customer service but after long waits on the phone the line goes dead.  Apparently the use of the redemption number to get a serial number is a walk through Hell.

I get the feeling Adobe could care less.
