Question

reduce size to enable thumbnail

Elements 2020 - Actions does not allow recording a series of keystrokes.
I need to reduce file size of large photos (ex Galaxy S20) to enable thumbnails in Organiser.   (Even the NEF from my SLR show a thumbnail OK)

Currently I do the following

1) Image / Resize / (knock a 0 off the pixels) / OK

2) File / Save as / (Save in version set with Original) / OK

3) Close

Not sure if that is the best way, but I have a few hundred to do and it is going to take a long time.

Is there a way to do that a) to a batch, or b) repeatedly with one or two  clicks

If your on Windows you could try increasing the Maximum image size limit in the Organizer

as expained here:

Thank you Jeff

I had found that but have read that Adobe do not recommend that approach so dismissed it

Perhaps I am being overcautious

FILE> PROCESS MULTIPLE FILES.  Choose whatever resize option you want.    I recommend by starting off reducing ppi to even 96 or 72 if they are going to be used online only.   I typically reduce from 300ppi to 96ppi Anything greater that 96 is not needed for online use (That a very simplified reason).

Put the images in question in a folder you can find.
Create a folder you will put the resized images into.

Pay attention to what the red arrows are pointing to.
DO NOT put the resized images in the same folder as the original-- just save some steps and put the resized images into their own folder.

This is a screenshot from PSE 2025- that's why it is black.

Thanks

I have not got "Process Multiple Files" in the file menu (Elements 2020)
The S20 is dead anyway so the task is limited, I will continue go through individualy

Thanks again
