Reducing noise with consecutive lunar eclipse shots

Question

I would greatly appreciate instruction on how to use layers in Elements 18 to align and combine consecutive lunar eclipse photos to reduce noise? I have consecutive identical photos taken a short time apart, that are now separated by a blank layer, and are not exactly aligned, because of the lunar movement with time.

I have been somewhat successful with Guided Mode Photomerge Exposure and Panorama edits. Some suggest using an Add-in called Elements+ which makes at least focus stacking easy. My other messages on animated Gifs and geometric distortion correction detail my experiences

You can also try other stacking software like ZS stacker or Deepskystacker.
