Remove Default Scanner

I have Elements Organizer 15.0 / Photoshop on windows 10.

I recently went to Preferences and set up one of my scanners as the default scanner and set up a default folder.  However, I want to remove those.  Before I set them up, when I would do Import>From Scanner, I could select which scanner I wanted to use and which folder I wanted to save to.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to revert back.  I have tried to restore original settings and that didn't work.  I would really like to be able to select my scanner and folder which time I hit Import>From Scanner.

While I thought setting up the default would be a great time-saver, it is actually taking me more time to work around it.  I use two different scanners depending on what I'm doing and I import into folders by years.  I'm either having to go into preferences and change my folder or scanner or move my photos.

Thanks

    Correct answer mytaxsite

Have you tried to disconnect the scanner from the machine and then launching PSE Organizer.  Then go to:

    Edit >> Preferences

You can then click on the reset button 2 or 3 times before closing the PSE.  Then launch PSE again to make sure it says "No scanner Detected".

This might work or not work because I don't scan things these days in PSE s I find using the operating system is faster and better for my work flow.!!!

    THANK YOU!!

That did work.  It took be a try or two because once I disconnected Elements didn't recognize the scanner.  But a couple of restarts later and I'm back in business.  I appreciate the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And once I get caught up on the backlog of old photos I have I hope to never scan again.  LOL
