Rename folder, add rating set up new album do not work

If I try to rename folders, add ratings, set up a new album they fail

renaming folder failed, error changing rating, error creating new album.

 

I can upload my new photos ok and I can share to Flickr

 

Seems to relate to changes I try to make to media in Photoshop Elements 2018

    What OS are you using?

    Are you receiving the error shown in my screenshot below:

    This can happen if you have the folder open in a Windows File Explorer window or if the file is being used by another program.

    I have no clue what an OS is but .... by magic it is now working. I have done nothing to anything, so hopefully it will stay working.

    OS = operating system

     

    Most personal computers these days use either Windows or MacOS. Others run Linux.

    Can you explain in more detail what you are doing to perform these functions, and also let us know what happens when you try to perform the function.  Are you getting any errror messages?

    For example if I wish to change a folder name I would 

    right click

    click on 'rename folder'

    The name field would be available to change and I'd type the changes

    Elements Organizer then says ! 'Renaming the folder failed'

     

    When wishing to add a rating to an individual image I click on the number of stars I wish to give it in the bottom left hand corner

    Elements Organizer then says ! 'Error changing rating'

     

    Apart from uploading photos and sharing them to Flickr .... which both work these are the only tools I have been using in Adobe Elements Organizer so there may be lots of other things that don't work!

     

    So I thought maybe I'll try adding a new Album whihc I have never used before

    Clicked on albums, my Albums then the + sign then new album added an album name and OK

    Elements Organizer then says ! 'Error creating new album'

     

    "Computer says NO"

    sorry for the delay in replying but I have got fed up with this and have just been out on daily walks with my camera during this lockdown

     

    Any help simply explained would be very gratefully appreciated

    Please let us know which program you are having problems with. Someone will be along to move this post to the appropriate product forum, where you are more likely to get an answer to your question. Meantime, I'm putting this in Get Started, on the theory that someone may be able to answer you there. But you still have to tell us the program. 🙂

    Hi I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018

    Elements Organizer 16.0.0.0
    Core Version: 16.0 (20170902.m.113423)

     

    I am not an expert at all this, being ancient and liking to take photos .... so simple answers would help so much!!
