Question

Renamed folder, cancelled half way through and now can't access the photos

Using Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer V. 11

I was in the process of renaming a folder and then cancelled it before the folder finished the renaming command.  I cancelled it with the Elements Orangizer popup window, so I thought it would be okay.  I was wrong.

Now this folder and all 50 subfolders are greyed out.

I can still see the 2,000 pictures in the subfolders in the Organizer, but I can't move/copy/edit them.  Nor can I access them from Windows Explorer.

I did 'Reconnect Missing Files' and now all of the files in these subfolders have a yellow question mark in the top right corner of the thumbnail.

Please help if you can .. I need these files to run my business.

Please explain what you mean when you say you can't access the files from Windows Explorer.  Are the original folders and sub-folders present.  Have you tried looking for the files under the new folder names that you cancelled?

How did you try to rename the folders? At what point did you see a cancel button?

If you have not rebooted or chosen the paste command since this problem arose, try opening a new folder in Windows and use the Paste command.

In the greyed out folders in Elements Organizer, try right-clicking and using the Import Media menu item.

And what version of Windows are you using?
