?Required sign in for trial and pay for old software

My Elements 12 is requiring a sign in for a trial with an option to pay. I have been using this software for several years and now I can't get by this sign in screen to edit. What is going on?

In the sign in dialog which you are getting, click on Sign In and then enter your Adobe ID (the one with which you made the purchase).

The you can enter the serial number to get PSE12 activated again.
