Cannot resize photo using photoshop 7 in custom mode without placing a number in width without it changing when I put a number in height, and vise versa. How do I get the inserted numbers to remain unchanged?

Is "Resample Image" checked?

Is so and it still does not work for you, suggest that you reset preferences to default.

I assume that you are in the Image>resize.image size dialog.

Uncheck "Constrain Proportions" in order to change width & height independantly.

But, do you really wish to do this? Have you considered using the crop tool?

I'm attempting to shrink the photo to CD case size. Width 4.75-Height 4.724. Constrain Proportion box is not checked and won't receive one if I try.
