Running PSE 12 on Windows, can I upgrade to Camera Raw 9.5?

My new camera, Nikon D500, produces a NEF file that PSE 12 can't open as it uses Camera Raw 8.5.0. Apparently D500 NEF files require Camera Raw 9.5 but I can only find 9.5 referenced to CS6 and Lightroom..

    PSE12 can't be updated beyond ACR8.5

    Either purchase the PSE15 upgrade or convert to Adobe raw (DNG)

    You can batch convert a whole folder of NEF files and the DNG's will be backward compatible with PSE12.
