I am new to Elements...I have edited an image and have 3 layers, the background is the bottom layer and is transparent. I have selected only a portion of the original photo. How do I save to only show he selected area and have the background transparent. I want to save it as JPEG to the Web.

The JPEG file format doesn't support transparency.

Use PNG-24 instead, which does support transparency, but will probably turn out to be bigger in file size than jpeg.

Thank you but I figured out what I was doing wrong...I just needed to add a layer mask, save to the Web, and then the image saves only the selected area with a white background. Thank you for your response!
