Saving image in Elements 11 to print with Selphy CP1200

I can take a picture with my Canon G3X, insert the memory card (PNY 32GB Professional) into the Canon Selphy CP1200 and it prints BEAUTIFULLY! But if I transfer the picture to my laptop, and then open, edit and save with Elements 11, when I copy the picture back to the memory card and insert into the Selphy 1200, it cannot read it. Is there is work-around for this issue? Thank you!
