Saving Photomerge Panorama

Question

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 13. I can work the panorama tool and get good results. However, when I try to save the result, the new picture does not show up in the Organizer--only a gray space with an icon of a torn page. To be more specific, I am working with vertical pictures. I can save when merging only 2 pictures, but when merging 3 or more, I get just the gray space. Help!

Photoshop Elements maximum image size limits

A common problem when you are creating huge files from panoramas: you are limited to 30 000 pixels in both dimensions to be able to create a thumbnail..

My suggestion:

Since it seems you can open the resulting panorama in the editor, create much smaller file size in a version set. It will be used as a 'preview' file for easy visual searches.
