Scanner issue (previous title - Robin)

Have built a new PC running Windows 10 64 bit and installed PSE 15. Migrated catalogue from old PC and PSE 11 successfully. Now, PSE 15 will not launch Epsonscan although scanner - Epson Perfection V500 Photo using this programme - works perfectly well as standalone. The command 'Get photos from scanner' suggests PSE 15 should do this, as did PSE 11. Error message states, Unable launch scanner software as it is busy or the scanner is not connected, neither true. Have checked that PSE recognizes the scanner in Preferences, connection cable (USB) functioning, uninstalled and re-installed scanner software, checked WIA is on automatic and running. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Good afternoon Hatstead,

Thank you for the suggestion. Have put the problem to Epson - still awaiting a reply - but did use the latest drivers and software available on their website then followed the sequence recommended for doing a new install of the scanner. Since, have also tried removing the scanner in Control Panel, uninstalling the software using the programme's own uninstaller, then starting over again. Each time the scanner is correctly recognized by OS and PSE 15 but will not launch inside PSE.

Have you had a similar problem, or is there just some fault in my set-up?
