Scanning Directly into PS Elements 2023

Using PS Elements 2023 on an m1 Mac with OS13.  How can I scan directly into Elements? Right now I have to scan using Image Capture, save to the Desktop, then open the saved scans in Elements.  I remember in version 9 or so, you had to move the TWAIN scanner plug-in to a certain subfolder in the Adobe PS Elements library.  Is there some kind of similar workaround for Elements 2023?
