Scans not added to Organiser

I am using Elements 19.0 in Windows 10

When I scan a doc or photo using 'File-Get photos and videos-from scanner' the scan completes but instead of appearing in Organiser I get a message saying "1 Media files were skipped because they are already in the catalog" and underneath "The file already exists in the catalogue" with the link to the Elements scan storage folder with todays date. I have Preferences set to save to a folder in One Drive but it never gets there. Each time I have to use File Explorer to find the file and move it manually before I can get it into Organiser.

What is wrong here with me and/or Organiser?

Dennis

Thanks for your response but that is exactly as I have Oganiser set. I wouldn't be too concerned about where Elements was storing them if it would only import them into Organiser and not just tell me that they are already in the catalogue.

Thanks again

I've just re-set the save to - User/me/AppData/Local/Temp/PSAlbums - where it was sending them anyway and the first scan appears in Organiser as it should. I think I'll have to stick with that.

Dennis,

I have checked again and that still works as expected for me. What I don't understand in your case is that if the files had been imported in another folder in the catalog, you would immediately see them if you have set the file order to newest and you could check their real location. Are you saving as jpeg vs tiff/png? The message for 'files already in the catalog would mean that those files would have both the same scanning time and same size in kilobytes. The file names could be the same or different.

If I decide to store scanned docs from the organizer in OnDrive, I use the organizer menu Edit >> Preferences >> scanner and I enter the path into the local OnDrive folder I have created for that purpose. Works as expected for me.
