Hallo,

A raw photo has no color:

FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?

A raw format is not an image format. It only stores the intensity of light at each photo sensor site. Before hitting the sensor, the light goes through an array of red, blue and green filters. The conversion process to an image file implies a 'demosaising' step which is able to assign a proper color to each pixel corresponding to a photo site.

To keep it simple, the raw file completely ignores the settings you have applied in your camera. When you shoot raw, the camera processing software does the 'demosaising' step to create the jpeg version you are seeing when browsing your pictures on your camera display. That conversion takes into account your camera settings. But when any othe converting softwares deals with the raw file, it ignores them. So, you have to do the color to black and white conversion yourself, by telling your software (the ACR module dialog) you want black and white.

The simplest method is to move the saturation slider totally towards left.

You can also get better results if you play with the white balance and tint sliders to simulate color filters in front of your lens.

Finally, you may simply output a good color version to the editor. There you have many ways to create black and white. The most obvious one is the menu Enhance >> convert to black and white.

(Side note, you should not state your mail in a public forum; that's the best way to get a lot of unwanted spam.)
