Select a straight line?

PSE 2018. Windows 10.

I have a jpg of our community and the surrounding area.

Our subdivision is outlined by straight lines around the borders.

I want to select those lines.

And ultimately make darker/wider lines so the boundaries are more

easily identified.

Tried the Magnetic Lasso and some of the Selection Tools.

Nothing was giving me what I wanted.

So, I suspect I'm using the wrong tool or using the right tool incorrectly.

Thanks for any help or advice!

    Try this:

    1. Open a blank layer above the layer with the depiction of the community
    2. Activate the brush tool. Left click on a start point over of one of the lines, hold down the shift key, and left click again where you wish the superimposed line to end.
    3. Note: You can increase/decrease the size of the brush with the bracket keys next to the letter P on the keyboard. Also, there are square brushes available if this is desirable for your purpose.

    Thanks, hatstead & Peru Bob,

I did what y'all suggested and rather than try to select the existing lines, then alter them I just
created new, larger lines on top of what was there.
