Question

Sideways scrolling and menu issues PLS HELP

Hi,

I went on my Photoshop yesterday to edit a photo. I usually use the Polygonal Lasso tool to outline things, and when I use it, I zoom in and start outlining. When I was doing it this time, scrolling to the LEFT ONLY is ridiculously slow. Scrolling any other way is at a normal speed, but the left just goes so slow that it's almost useless to do. Now, I know I can use the SHIFT key while scrolling, but see, I never use to have to do that, and I want it back the way it was.

Other issue: my menu (the one that lists all the things like the paint brush, eraser, lasso tools, etc) isn't "connected" to the edge of the window anymore. In other words, when I "zoom to fit" for my picture, the menu covers the edge of the photo, and it used to not do this.

Please, Please, help. Hopefully this made sense.

Adobe, I do NOT appreciate you changing my settings like this on your own. That's not okay at all.

Try resetting the preferences:

Restore default preferences

Preference settings control how Photoshop Elements Editor displays images, cursors, and transparencies, saves files, uses plug‑ins and scratch disks, and so on. If the application exhibits unexpected behavior, the preferences file could be damaged. You can restore all preferences to their defaults.

Note: Deleting the preferences file is an action that cannot be undone.

Do one of the following:

  • Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Mac: Option+Command+Shift) immediately after Photoshop Elements begins launching. Click Yes to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file.
  • Go to Edit > Preferences (Mac: Photoshop Elements > Preferences > General), click the Reset Preferences on next launch button, and then click OK. When you restart Adobe Photoshop Elements, all preferences are reset to default settings.

A new preferences file is created the next time you start Photoshop Elements Editor. For information on a specific preference option, search for the preference name in Help.
