Slide Show Issue with Photoshop Elements 2020 on a Windows 10 MS Surface 3 Laptop

Recently installed Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements 2020 on a new MS Surface 3 laptop with Windows 10.  When I create a slideshow,  it goes immediatly to preview. There is no editing functionality at all. Editing icons do not show up and the the slideshow file name does not display in projects.  Geek Squad worked with my PC for hours trying to fix problem to no avail. Program was uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.
