Slideshow issue

Hello

Can someone help me - I have Adobe PS Elements 2021 and Premiere elements 2021-bought as a package - I am trying to create a slideshow - it will create but it will not let me click on the icons to do any kind of edits to theme, or music, or let me add any captions.  Any ideas, I thought with the one I bought I could do this.  I do not have the auto curate button selected - I pick my pics then do the create slide show and it will generate  - just will not let me do anything to it.  I am going in the the organizer.

Thanks

Shelley

@Shelley5FB2, did you try the Registry edit from the HelpX file?  If not, contact Adobe support who should be able to help you.

Hold the presses!!!  If you are comfortable with editing the Windows registry, I have found the following likely solution in the Adobe HelpX files:

  • Close Elements Organizer.

  • Open Registry Editor. To do this:

    1. Click the Start button.
    2. In the Run dialog box or Search box, type Regedit and press Enter. If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes to open the Registry Editor.
  • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\ElementsOrganizer\19.0\Organizer.

  • Create a string key named ‘ForceAngleGraphics’ and set its value to 13.

  • Re-launch Elements Organizer.

I have modified the registry key above to reflect that you have Elements 2021.  (The article was apparently written for Elements 2018.)  If you are not comfortable with editing the registry, then contact Adobe support and I expect they will do it for you.

. . .  Doing an uninstall/reinstall will have no effect on the images in your Organizer catalog.

To resize the Elements window as I suggested, do the following:

  • Click on the middle (Maximize/Restore) button of the Windows controls in the top right, so that a single rectangle appears.  If you hover over it, it will say Maximize.

  • Click and drag the top menu bar of the window and you should be able to move it down and to the side.
  • If you hover over a corner or the middle of any side of the window, some double-headed arrows should appear, and when they do, you can click and resize the window by dragging the handle in.  It is probably best to use a corner handle so that the window is sized proportionally.

Once you have placed the window in the middle of the screen, create a slideshow  and see if there is any difference.  If no, close the slideshow and maximize the window to full size (by clicking on the Maximize button).  You cannot do this while in the slideshow editor.  Try creating a slideshow again.

If this doesn't work, go back to the smaller window.  Drag the window towards the bottom of the screen.  It is OK if the lower half of the window is off screen.  Next use the middle handle of the top side of the window to stretch the size up towards the top of the monitor.  Any difference?

Final suggestion:  Try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by clicking on the blue Contact Us button under the Support menu at Adobe.com. Or you can contact Support by telephone using the numbers listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html.  With your permission, they can take control of your machine and figure out what is going on.

Do you have the Elements Editor window maximized to fill your entire monitor?  If so, what happens if you click on the Windows middle control button (the restore button) and reduce the size of the Elements Window so it looks something like this on your monitor:

Are you still unable to see all of the controls?

Hey there,

So if you look back at the snip I took - I don't have those "icons" available - Like I say it is like it is off the monitor - up and over t the right, but evne so it is odd that when I click under the music note in the blank bar area the menu for the first icon(that is not visible) comes up and have to go lower for the second  icon menu to come up and then lower yet for the third (music) menu to come up - even if I click on the two icons you see the menu's will not come up -  almost like when you have two monitors if you know what I am trying to explain - and no I do not have two monitors

I can't not seem to "grab the edge" to move it over - not sure if there is a short cut key for this - just thought of that.  So maybe I will google that as well I may do an uninstall and  re install it today - just was hoping to do that as last resort as I do have pics in the organizer but oh well.

Are you saying that you do not see the Add Media button shown in my screenshot?

What is the size and resolution of your monitor?  The program requires a minimum of 1200x800 pixels at 100% scale factor.

Please give us a screenshot of what you are seeing.

I tried to reply but it came back mailbox full so trying this way

So it is like the whole screen is off kilter - you can only see two of the icons on the left and no save or export top right - and if you click on the icon nothing happens you litterally have to click below the icons on the blank portion, if you click right under the two Icons I do see first menu will come up go a little lower and second menu comes up a little lower and third menu comes up.  I did get an email from Adobe they asked if I tried to uninstall and install - I have not yet but will try that in next day or so.  Here are some screen shots

So see this is what I see - I did not cut off the snip I do not see the top icon or the ones on the left

And so if I click right under the music note Icon this is what comes up the first Icon menu

Shelley, do you possibly have your Windows Taskbar set to Automatically hide?  If so, right-click on the Taskbar and choose Taskbar Settings.  In the dialog that appears, toggle the setting off.

Have you allowed the Slideshow Editor to generate a preview of the slideshow?  Until the preview is created, none of the other controls will work.  I know that is annoying but it is the expected behavior.  If you have allowed the preview to generate, are you saying that you click on the edit buttons but nothing happens?

What OS are you using?  What are the specs of your computer?  How many photos or videos have you added to the slideshow?

Hello,

Thank you for the reply - so I have let it generate and have watched it -
but only the theme and music button will show up on the left side but if I
click on them nothing - literally nothing happens. I thought there were
also to be edit buttons to allow entering text etc ( at the bottom) but
nothing there. I have only started using this feature so I am only adding
like 5 pics max.

I am using windows 10.

Sorry I am not a computer guru so hope this is what you mean for specs -
Core I5-8500
Memory 16GB
GPU Intel(R) graphics 630

Not sure if you need this but my pics are all stored on external drive not
on my computer.
