Smart Blur crashes Photoshop Elements

Jan 2024. Smart Blur crashes Photoshop Elements. Increased usage under Performance to 90% as well as all other suggestions in various forums. I haven't purchased the latest version. Is this how Adobe makes our software obsolete like HP was doing? Or is this an update bug?

Really need some info:  your OS, how much ram you have installed,  and what version of the software.

Youe really need at least 8GB of ram, however, it will probably work with 4GB installed- but can have issues like what you describe.

Having facial / media analysis running (you can turn in off in your preference file in organizer)  can hog system resources, its a case wwhere 8gb or mofe of ram is helpful.

Hving previous occurance of the prgram running can also result in some of the backround processes continuing to run, even after you close the program, or even uninstall the software.   I recommend that you turn your computer all the way off, go get some coffee, turn it back and and restart the editor.  See how it runs.

You can also try holding down your left shift key when clicking on the icon that starts the editor- answer yes when given the choice-- doing  this disables any add ons.

If you have ventura you basically need the latest version of the software, PSE 2024.

@veronicas634641

I've branched and moved your post from a thread in the Photoshop Beta forum to the Photoshop Elements forum.
