Smart Brush - portrait - eye brighten

Are there any directions on how to use this particular Smart Brush?  I have looked in Help and forum and have not found anything useful. I get little tiny symbols in the corner of the eyes.  Do not know what there function is.  Only way to get out of the brush is to select a different tool (not a Smart Bush).  Using  PSE 15.
