SOLUTION FOR ELEMENTS 13 UPDATE FAILURES?

For maybe the last 6 months, I've repeatedly  tried to download the latest  updates for Elements 13, but the update(s)  always fails without explanation.   I've reinstalled 13  from my CD, and still can't successfully download any updates.  I even bought Elements 14, but find it to be inferior for my purposes to version 13.  I've gone to the Adobe web site, but  I can't locate any canned tech support for my specific Elements 13  problem.  And  live human tech support  is out of the question unless I pay.   ANY answers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. HELP, PLEASE!  --Rich.

    Any error message?  If so, what is the exact wording?

    Exactly how are you trying to update?

    RE: My failed  Elements 13 update known as 13.1

    Every now & then  when I try to launch Elements 13, I get "You have a new update 13.1."  After clicking on it and waiting til all is finished on  maybe 6 different occasions, I get this: "Update Failed. The error log may help you identify the problem.  ntry the updating again. If the problems persist, contact Customer Support."

    I clicked the link to check the error log and found the error code is U44M1P7.  It isn't clickable.  I googled it twice and was linked to tech stuff that's way  beyond me, but showed this error message as being very common for Photoshop products.

    I've also twice reinstalled Elements 13 from my original CD, and still can't use the update 13.1.  I've also gone to Customer Support, but the canned stuff there was of no relevant help.  Plus human tech support apparently  doesn't come with Elements 13.

    So...I have very limited knowledge and don't know what to do now.  While I'm happy to ignore updates that are irrelevant to my needs, I've been having some problems with Elements 13 and would like this and future updates in case they can solve my problems.  Any uncomplicated help you can provide or suggest would be greatly appreciated, as I'm pretty much a computer/software dummy.  Thanks, Bob.  Of anyone else who can help me.
