Question

Some photos fail to import

Import of photos and videos to Organizer has worked ok. However, yesterday  the import fails – for some photos. (At least the thumbnail of the photo is missing. The files that fail are visible in preview when selecting files to import. Is there a file size issue here? The missing files seems to be 10+ mb.
(I am using Elements Organizer 26.0.0.0 running on Windows 11)

Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer:!--tgqphd|[]--> Limits image dimensions based on your available RAM. For example, systems with more than 2 GB of RAM top out at 72 megapixels (75.4 million pixels). If an image exceeds this, it won't display a thumbnail, though there is no limit to the overall catalog size

You are right – the Organizer version is also 26.3
The files I currently am working with are jpg.
I have 32 GB RAM in my PC.
The photos that seem to cause the problem have been taken with Samsung mobile S23, occasionally using the 200M setting.
I have tried a workaround by reducing image size (to 1-2 mb) and stacking it with the original, but hope to avoid this extra work.

Are you sure they are jpeg? The S23 can capture HEIC files which would require a compatible codec.

    You could change default settings:

    Open your S23 Camera App.

Tap the Settings gear icon in the top-left corner.

    Select Advanced picture options.

Toggle OFF the "High efficiency pictures"

Try updating from the Editor help menu. The latest version is 2026.3

Let us know if that makes a difference.

In that case you should have the corresponding Organizer - see image. Check from the Organizer menu: help > About Photoshop Elements

What are the file types that are causing the import problem?
