Sorting order download from camera card

How can I change the sorting order when I download the photos from my camera card? When I download now my photos, the order of the photos is from newest to oldest, while I want to download the oldest first, so the oldest get the lowest numbers.

Hi,

While downloading from Camera/ Card reader, you can not change the date time of files from Photo Downloader application.

Once you have imported the files and they are visible in Organizer, you can change the sorting order of displayed media using  sort by options present at top of the grid:

I do not want to change the date time of my files. I want that the sorting order follows the date time, while importing files from my card. For example I import files of October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The oldest file from October 1st gets number 1 in the file name (File name: Adapted name + Recording date (jjjjmmdd) + ####) and the newest file of October 3rd gets the highest nummer.

You don't have to.

But you want to rename the files with a template including the date. That means you are not choosing a data criteria, you are choosing a file name (text) criteria including the template you have chosen in the advanced options of the downloader. If you select a jjjjmmdd format,

The renaming should be ok as well as in your OS (explorer/finder) or in Elements when you choose filename as the criteria.

Whether at import time or after the files are copied to your computer, they are in random locations on your drive. They are not sorted. They are simply indexed according to the various types of indexing of your operating system or in the organizer.

In the organizer, the sort order you choose according to arshla jindal​ 's description should work whether you are in filename or date sort order.

Just a little tip: in your preferences, you can choose to show the oldest first in each day, even if you choose newest first. That's what most user want, so it's the default.
