I'm using PSE 14 and all the sudden there are spaces between my letters when using the text tool. HELP! I have googled the issue and there seems to be no forum with a solution. I've tried the asian text go around and it isn't helping with my issue. Can someone please assist?

Since the problem appeared all of a sudden after working well, the first thing to suspect is a corruption in the preferences files.

    - in the tool options bar on the bottom of the display, you have an icon in the upper right corner, 5 horizontal bars, which opens a menu with the option to reset the tool. That should solve the problem; also try after rebooting your computer. As a last resort, you can use your menu Edit >> preference and click the button to reset preferences at next launch.

    - There are indeed many posts about letter spacing in this forum. The technical words are kerning and tracking.

    Kerning - Wikipedia

Elements does not provide the full tools available in the full photoshop.

The 'Asian' text workaround works to a degree...

But to recover tracking and kerning, you may need to use an external add-on like Elements+ (very affordable) or ElementsXXL.

I've moved your question to the Photoshop Elements forum.
