suddenly elements 10 not opening properly and is not working/windows 10

my elements 10 has been working fine until yesterday. been running it on windows 10 with no issues. now it opens but when i go to try to open up a project there is no text in the drop down menu. seems it has been rendered completely useless for no reason all of a sudden...

    Also please see if you have all Windows updates downloaded and installed on your system.

    a reboot seems to have brought my text back and looks like it will work. according to the other threads this won't last? hope it does though. And on a side note, it seems real slow. opens slow and the functions take a long time too. not sure if this is a related issue or not but hopefully i'll be able to use photoshop now. Thanks.
