Tags and "goups of people"

When I am tagging and hit name more peole, I get the "groups of people" window with no thumbnail photos, just blank and black with a "?" below, in the left column. I have at least on thumnail photo in each line in the right column. Only choice is to cancel or save. What is wrong?

Did you delete face tag from the tags pane before this?

Unfortunately, I am not sure what you mean. When I started tagging, there were no tags on these photos, at all. To further clarify this, in the panes on the right, the question is asked "Which of the are not ?" with the"?" being the "name" of the blank, black thumbnails in the left column. Also, when I right click the thumbnails on the right with actual pics, my choices are: not ?, is ?, not a person, ignore or show in full size view. Again the"?" is the name of the blank, black thumbnail in the left column. Still need solutions.
